7 BCL men to be expelled from DU

The disciplinary committee of Dhaka University (DU) on Monday recommended expulsion of seven BCL men from the institution in different tenures over assaulting a student named Ahsan Rafiq at Salimullah Muslim Hall.
This recommendation would be finalized on today (Tuesday) at syndicate meeting which
dubbed as a supreme policy making board of the university.
Among six of second year students, Umar Faruque of Marketing Department has been recommended for permanent expulsion from the institution while two years expulsion for Samiul Islam Sami of Sociology Department, Ruhul Amin Bepary of Journalism Department, Ahasanullah of Philosophy Department, Mehdi Hasan Himel of Urdu Department and Faradin Ahmed of Public Administration Department.
All the above mention are the posted leaders of Salimullah Muslim Hall Unit BCL.
And the remaining one is the vice-president of Hall BCL unit named Ariful Islam, a masters student of Education and Research institute of DU, has been recommended for one year expulsion.
Besides, the committee also recommended to expel those form Salimullah Muslim Hall permanently.
On February 6 midnight, a section of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders of DU SalimullahMuslim Hall unit tortured a second year student Ahsan Rafiq severely at the main gate of the hall over silly matter. On their attack, his left eye and head were badly injured.
Ahsan Rafiq, also a first class first student of Disaster Science and Management Department will be taken to Sankar Netraloy (eye hospital) in Chennai of India for better treatment as his eyes condition deteriorated.
