Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members on Friday recovered 65,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets worth Tk20 million from an orange van in Feni.
RAB also detained two suspected drug dealers Md Sohel alias Sohagh, 28, and Md Saiful Islam Nizam, 27 in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of RAB-7 took position in Rampur of Feni town in the early hours of the day, stopped the van at 5:30am and seized the tablets, said Media Officer of the RAB ASP Amirullah.
But sensing the presence of RAB, one of the drug dealers succeeded to escape the arrest. The detained persons, however, admitted their long time involvement in the drug trading.
RAB has handed over the detainees to the Feni Model Thana under Drug Control Act.
RAB-7 posted in Feni recovered more than 3.2 million pieces of Yaba tablets, nearly two-kilos of cocaine along with a significant amount of foreign and local made beer, beer making machinery, phensidyl, sex pills and others from 1st January to till date.
