Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said about 650 parliamentarians and representatives of 53 countries under nine regions will take part in the 62nd Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) conference which will be held in Dhaka in September, 2016.
“Bangladesh has already formed 26 sub-committees to arrange the conference successfully and the committees have already started activities by marking their working areas,” she said.
The Speaker said this on Thursday while addressing the half yearly CPA executive committee meeting as the chairperson at Portcullis House of British parliament in London, said a release here on Friday.
Dr Chaudhury said hotel booking for the parliamentarians and representatives have already been completed and the online registrations for participants will begin soon.
Among others, CPA Vice Chairperson Shirley M Osborne, MLA, Secretary General Akbar Khan and Treasure Request Muntanga MP attended the meeting.
