Japan East West Medical College Hospital is a joint venture dream project of a Japanese firm, Ship Healthcare Holdings and Aichi Medical Group, Bangladesh.
Recently, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has come up into a tie with this joint venture company name “Ship Aichi Medical Services Limited”.
Aspiration of this joint venture company is to set up a multi-specialized international standard 650-bed hospital in Ashulia in Savar , Dhaka with an investment of Tk 500 crore. The construction work of the hospital has been started in May 2017 and we are expecting to launch the first phase of our hospital by the end of 2019.
The joint venture is renovating an Aichi Medical Group subsidiary East-West Medical College and Hospital and constructing seven stored existing building to house the new hospital, which will be named as”Japan East West Medical College Hospital”. There are two new buildings under construction adjacent to the existing building- an eleven stored Annex building to accommodate the patients and a seven stored Service building for the smooth operation of the hospital. New Hospital will have 173 high tech cabins among them 8 VIP cabins. Also they will offer 75 -bed for the poor as free beds , which is first time in Bangladesh corporate hospital service.
The fully functioned hospital will specialise in different centres: Cardiac centre, kidney centre, Trauma centre, Infertility centre, Mother & Child care and Neuro centre under one roof.
Ship Aichi Medical Services Limited has signed memorandum of understanding with different international organizations and institutions (like- Mahidol University Thailand, Nagoya University Japan, Osaka International Hospital for Cancer and Heart Disease Japan, Bangpakok Medical Group Bangkok). The new hospital need 200 more doctors, nurses and other health care personnel for the new hospital. The hospital authority will also arrange special training programme for the health care professionals in home and abroad. Also Foreign (Japanese) doctors, nurses and hospital managers will work in the hospital as trainers to establish a Japanese style , high quality hospital service.
This hospital will start first ever in Bangladesh- “Shuttle Bus Services” for their patients and with highly equipped ambulance services, 24 hours’ cafeteria and international food service.
The international organisation miup has come in collaboration with this hospital to set up modern Japanese style diagnostic centre and the hospital also planning to introduce Artificial Intelligent (AI)technology for diagnostic purpose in near future in collaboration with the company.
The hospital will offer diagnostic services such as angiography to detect heart diseases, adding that the hospital will handle such advanced treatments as neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and transplants. The hospital will have Modular Operation Theatres, Infertility Care centres, Lifestyle Modification centres with doctors and nurses treating from home and abroad.
Japan East West Medical College Hospital will offer services of international standards at a reasonable cost compared to other high-end hospitals in Bangladesh. The country has huge demand for cardiac institutes as the number of cardiac patients increasing rapidly. Again there is a huge need of trauma and rehabilitative care in the neighbouring area of the hospital. This hospital will serve as a total care solution for people residing in Dhaka city as well as whole Bangladesh.
