65 CUB students get ‘Sarafat merit scholarship’

A total of 65 students of Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) on Saturday got Sarafat Chowdhury Merit Scholarship owing to their extraordinary academic performances in Fall 2018.
The scholarship was awarded in a colourful ceremony held in the CUB Auditorium in the morning of the day.
Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Sajjadul Hassan was present at the function as the Chief Guest while High Commissioner of Canada in Bangladesh Benoit Préfontaine was the guest of honour.
Chairman of Board of Trustees of CUB Professor Dr Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat presided over the function while Executive Chairman of CUB Shahnul Hassan, Vice-Chancellor of CUB Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Sheikh Mozaffar Hossain and Acting Registrar Bahauddin Muhammad Isa were present as special guests.
Faculties, Deans, Chairpersons of different departments, staff, recipients and their parents were also present at the ceremony.
Sajjadul Hassan congratulated the scholars for their outstanding results. They also urged students to dedicate themselves in nation-building activities and inspired them to work with sincerity and aptitude to obtain the highest position in the society. They also expected that CUB will continue their efforts to contribute to the higher education of the country.
