Nirapod Sorok Chai ( NISCHA) has published a report of road accidents in 2019.
In 2019, a total of 240 road accidents were killed in Sylhet division and 238 were injured.
In the meantime, 157 people were killed and 73 injured in 71 road accidents in Sylhet district.
75 people were killed and 35 injured in 33 road accidents in the district of Sunamganj.
226 people were killed and 48 injured in 50 road accidents in the district of Moulvibazar.
160 people were killed and 82 injured in 86 road accidents in Habiganj district.
Which is many times more than the past 2018 and has taken on a form of horror.
It is noted that in 2018, 195 people were killed and 499 injured in 162 road accidents in Sylhet division.
The causes of the accident were – illiterate and inefficient drivers, poor vehicles, poor traffic system, people’s unconsciousness, uncontrollable speed, lack of political will, lack of goodwill, law and its enforcement.
t is to be noted that 5227 people were killed and 6953 injured in 4702 road accidents across Bangladesh. 198 people killed and 347 injured in 162 accidents on the railway. 64 killed, 157 injured, 110 missing in 30 accidents on the way to the naval.
