6000 affected from cold-related diseases

Different types of cold-related diseases attacked about 6000 people across the country in the last 24 hours as per the government data.
Wednesday’s data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room showed that total 5,852 people were attacked in different districts in the time.
Of them, 845 of the patients received treatment for acute respiratory infection.
The cold related diseases are increasing due to the cold wave sweeping all over the country in recent days, according to the met offices.
The DGHS data showed that cold-related diseases have been reported from the 296 upazilas.
In the last 24 hours, 1,957 people were treated for diarrhoea, and 3,050 for cold-related diseases including fever, jaundice and inflammation in the eye and skin diseases.
It also showed that 51 people died across the country between November 1 and January 8 due to ARI, diarrhoea and other cold-related diseases.
Four of the victims died of diarrhoea while other cold-related diseases terminated lives of 30 people.
