About 60 lakh primary and secondary level students will get new textbooks in Rajshahi in the first day of the New Year 2020.
According to the sources, this year primary and secondary level students have declined than the previous year. The required numbers of primary books were already reached but 10 percent of secondary books were not reached till now.
Rajshahi district primary education officer Abdus Salam on Tuesday said that more than 3 lakh students will receive 14 lakh 11 thousands new books while more than 47 thousands pre-primary level students will get the new books.
At the first day of the New Year 2020, the new textbooks will be handed over among the students amid festivity during the book giving ceremony, also he said.
Rajshahi District Education Officer Mohammod Nasim Uddin, said more than 1 lakh 80 thousand secondary level students will be given 44 lakh 86 thousand textbooks the upcoming year 2020. About 90 percent books for secondary students have been already reached, said also he.
