Naeem Islam (19), an agricultural worker, raped a 6 year-old child in Tarash of Sirajganj. The child was admitted to the 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital’s Gaini ward in critical condition on Wednesday (March 17th) night.
The baby’s mother from the hospital said, “Last Tuesday (March 17) morning, when I left my 6-year-old daughter at home and went to the pond to raise ducks, Naeem, who was my next door neighbour, took my daughter home and raped her. After a while I returned home and my daughter actually informed me of the incident. Later, when the girl became seriously ill, she was admitted to Sirajganj Hospital at night.
We did not agree when the locals took the initiative to resolve the issue. Naeem has been on the run since the incident. Now Naeem and his family are threatening us. Naeem is the son of Abdul Momin of Maheshrauhali village in Naogaon union of Islam upazila.
