Six students were detained from college hostel during taking drugs and were sent them to jail on Tuesday afternoon. The jailed six students were Khairul Islam, Md. Sabuj Khan, Gobinda Chandra, Fazle Rabbi, Faisal Sardar and Imran Haoladar.
They were resident students of Shaheed Alamgir Chhatrabas and first year HSC students of Government Syed Hatem Ali College of Barisal city, said Shafikul Islam, superintendent of the hostel.
Sub Inspector Al Mamun of Barisal Kotwali police station, said he along with a police team raided the college hostel in presence of the college authourity on Monday late night after receiving allegation of taking drugs in the hostel.
Then searching different rooms of the hostel police found Yaba tablets and instruments of taking drugs.
Police also detained six addicted students from room no. 512 of the hostel during taking drugs.
