Six onion traders of Khatungonj and Reazuddin Bazar in the city were convicted with penalty of Tk.1.10 lakh in separate drives in the port city for alleged price hike in retail markets. District Administration, Consumers Rights Protection Directorate and Ministry of Commerce in a joint raid fined these traders on Friday.
The convicted shops are : Elias Store, Bhai Bhai Departmental store, Jalal Store, Makkah Stores, Mabia Stores, Maa Baba Stores . Deputy Secretary of Commerce Ministry Md Selim Hossain, Deputy Director of Consumers Rights Directorate Shahida Fatema Chowdhury participated the mobile court raid.
