6 killed in Mymensingh road crash

At least six people were killed and two others injured when a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Bhapkir intersection in Muktagachha upazila early Saturday. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Muktagachha Police Station, said the accident took place in the area around 6:00am when a Tangail-bound goods-laden truck hit a Mymensingh-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving its one passenger dead on the spot and seven others injured. The injured were rushed to Muktagachha Upazila Health Complex where two of them died. Later the rest five injured were shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where three of them died after admission. The rest two injured who were undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital are Niizam, 33, and Shafiqul, 33, both residents of Muktagaccha upazila.
