The Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday unanimously reconstituted 11 parliamentary standing committees on different ministries.
The committees were reconstituted with some of the top leaders of the ruling Awami League as heads of the parliamentary panels.
The six committees are: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Public Administration Affairs, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Chief Whip ASM Feroz, on behalf of the Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, moved the proposals for reconstituting the committees in the House, which were unanimously approved.
