Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained six people with huge quantity of illegal instruments of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) from Chawkbazar area of the city Sunday evening.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Nizam Uddin, 32, Mohammad Jahed, 19, Helal Uddin,19, Shahidul Islam, 27, Rafiqul Alam, 38, and Parvez Alam, 23.
A team of RAB-7 conducted the drive at the area at 3 pm on Sunday and recovered the VoIP instruments worth about Tk two crore. The team also detained six people during the drive, assistant director of RAB-7 Sohel Mahmud said.
