Chittagong city and district police in a series of drives detained seven leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat on Wednesday night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said police detained three leaders and activists in raids at various places of Lohagara and Sitakunda, Upazila to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police also detained three BNP Jammat activists from different areas in city during the same period.
Views exchange between EC & ctg candidates tomorrow
Chittagong Bureau: Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed will hold meeting of views exchange with the contesting candidates of mayoral race in the port city tomorrow. The meeting has been arraged a t the Hall-24 audtorium in city.
