Detectives in a drive arrested at least six members of an inter-district robber gang from Trishal upazila of Mymensingh early Friday. .
The arrested men were Md Anis (58) of Barisal, Md Hanif (50) of Shariatpur, Md Altaf Hossain (35) of Nilphamari, Md Atiqul Islam (28) of Mymensingh, and Md Abdul Latif (42) and Md Aminul Islam (20) of Sirajganj.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of Mymensnigh police launched a drive in Bagar Bazar intersection in the early hours on Friday and arrested the six members of an inter-district robber gang, said, officer-in-charge (OC DB) Shafiul Islam.
Six homemade weapons were recovered from them and a pick up van used for robbery was seized during the drive.
The arrestees were produced before Mymensingh court with seven-day remand prayer after a case was filed against them with Trishal Police Station in this connection.
