The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has arrested six youths including the ringleader for selling sex toys through online.
They were arrested from Mirpur area of the capital on Saturday.
The arrestees are-Rezaul Amin Hridoy, 28, Mir Hisamuddin Bayezid, 38, Siam Ahmed alias Robin, 21, Md Yunus Ali, 30, Arju Islam Jim, 22 and the leader of the racket Mehedi Hasan Bhuiyan alias Sunny, 28.

Kamrul Ahsan divulged the information at a press briefing in CID’s headquarters on Sunday.
He said that a ‘O’ level student of private school died on January 7. After autopsy it was revealed that she died of excessive bleeding for perverted sex. Experts say that signs of using a kind of foreign body was used found while the student was passing time with boyfriend. After that they started investigating.
A number of organized gangs keeping their identities secret advertising on various websites and Facebook pages for selling sex day using pictures and videos in the country. Their unit was able to identify several such websites, Facebook pages, he added.
According to the investigation, the sex toys were imported to Bangladesh illegally and then sold in high price through online. Tvc Sky Shop BD, Sky Shop BD, Tvc Sky Shop and Asian Sky Shop websites and facebook pages were advertising sex toys and selling those products online, the official said.
During the raid, CID seized the toys worth nearly Tk 12 lakh. The products were delivered though delivery men and payments were received through bKash and Rocket online money transaction service, said the additional DIG.
He said that Mehedi had started the sex toy business in 2017. He was a delivery man of Asian Sky Shop and left the job in 2013 and started own business. Mehedi used to buy products from India and China and import the goods with miss-declaration to Bangladesh.
