The government has undertaken a project to install the fifth biggest national data centre in the world at Hi-Tech Park in the country aimed at giving quick digital service to people.
Replying to a supplementary question from treasury bench member Monirul Islam, State Minister for Information Communication and Technology Zunyed Ahmed Palak told this in the House.
He said Chinese Exim Bank agreed to finance the project, which would be implemented within the next two years, adding, “We have a central web portal, which is maintaining 40 lakh contents.”
Replying to another question from treasury bench member Anwarul Abedin Khan, Palak said that the government has taken initiative to install 2,000 computer labs including 17 laptops, one multimedia and language learning software at educational institutions in 64 districts from this Fiscal Year for learning language.
“We will install computer labs along with other digital facilities in all constituencies of the Jatiya Sangsad in phases,” he added.
The state minister, however, said around 1,10,000 educational institutions are running in the country.
