56 rivers marked rise, 23 fall

Water levels in 56 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 23 stations recorded fall.
Among the 84 monitored water level stations, three are above danger level, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Monday. All the major river systems are in rising trend.
The Brahmaputra-Jamuna river systems may remain steady in next 48 hours. The Ganges-Padma river systems may likely to fall while the Surma-Kushiyara to rise in next 48 hours.
A total of 115 mm rainfall was recorded at Rangamati, 80 mm at Cox’s Bazaar, 74.2 mm at Kushtia, 64.5 mm at Satkhira, 53.8 mm at Barguna, 93 mm at Faridpur, 75 mm at Sherpur and Sylhet, 65 mm at Khulna, 59 mm at Comilla and 52 mm at Teknaf.
