5557. 34 tonnes VGF rice allocated for Eid-ul-Azha in dists

The Government has allocated 955.770 tonnes rice under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme for over 63718 poor and distressed families to assist them in celebrating the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
‘The government has allocated 15 kg rice per card holder family under the special VGF programme this time,’ said Sylhet District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer (DRRO) Md. Nurunnabi Mozumdar today.
The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated the rice for distribution among 63 thousand and 718 poor and distressed families in all thirteen upazilas in the district.
The upazila administrations with assistance of local public representatives and union level committees are distributing the rice amongthe listed VGF card holder poor and distressed families.
‘Distribution of the allocated VGF rice among beneficiary families in all 105 unions in the district will be completed before the Eid-ul-Azha festivity ensuring complete transparency and accountability,’ the DRRO added.
Chairman Pir Foyzul Haque Iqbal of Lalabazar union in Dakshin Surma upazila said he has taken steps to timely complete distribution of allocated 25.8 tonnes and five kg VGF rice among 1,720 card holder families with assistance of authorities concerned.
Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet M. Kazi Emdadul Islam said steps have been taken for ensuring complete transparency in the distribution process of the VGF rice among card holder families timely to assist them in celebrating the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
BSS from Khulna reports : The government has allocated 2,645 tonnes of rice for 1, 76, 332 VGF card holders at nine upazilas and two pourashavas of the district on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Of the total allocation, 2,116 tonnes of VGF rice were distributed among 1, 41,066 distressed families while remaining rice will be distributed before Eid-ul-Azha, said sources at the local administration.
They said the allocated rice would be distributed among poor people so that they can celebrate the Eid-ul-Azha amid festivity and gaiety.
Each card holder will get 15-kg rice under the special VGF programme this year, said Khulna District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer (DRRO) Azizul Haque Zoarder.
Under the programme, a total of 533 tonnes of rice are being distributed among 35,500 families of Dacope upazila, 484 tonnes among 32,226 families of Batiaghata upazila, 280 tonnes among 18,664 families of Dighalia upazila, 426 tonnes among 18,433 families of Rupsha upazila, 74 tonnes among 4,941 families of Fultala upazila, 162 tonnes among 10,822 families of Koyra upazila, 205 tonnes among 13,690 families of Paikgachha upazila, 119 tonnes among 7,959 families of Terokhada upazila and 246 tonnes among 16,395 families of Dumuria upazila.
Besides, over 46 tonnes of rice are being distributed among 3,081 families in Chalna pourashabha and over 69 tonnes rice are being distributed among 4,621 families in Paikgachha pourashabha.
Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Md Helal Hossain said steps have been taken for ensuring complete transparency in the distribution process of the VGF rice among card-holder families.
 BSS from Bhola adds: A total of 1,30,438 poor and distressed families will get 1956.57 tonnes of rice under special Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) Programme to celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
Officials of the district Relief and Rehabilitation said the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated the rice for distribution to the poor and distressed families in all seven upazilas and five Pourashavas in the district.

Each of the selected beneficiary families will get 15 kg VGF rice in all 68 unions under seven upazilas and five Pourashavas in the district.
The distribution process will be completed before the Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
Under the programme, 30,287 VGF card holder families in Sadar upazila, 10,923 families in Borhanuddin upazila, 8,796 families in Daulatkhan upazila, 19,959 families in Lalmohan upazila, 6,842 families in Tazumuddin upazila, 27,830 families in Char Fasson Upazila and 4,236 families in Manpura upazila.
Besides, 323.4755 tonnes of rice will be distributed to 21,565 VGF card holder families in five Pourashavas in the district, sources said.
