Divisional Social Forestry Officer Imran Ahmed and Upazila Forest Officer Abdullah Harun also spoke.
Zunayed Polok said the plantation of adequate fruit and forest trees is very important for ensuring nutritional demands coupled with food security, ecological balance, and biodiversity.
Highlighting various significances of the fruit and fruit trees in terms of the present social and national aspects, he put emphasis on transforming the tree plantation campaign into a social movement. “Expansion of the country’s forest area up to 25 per cent of the total landscape through extensive tree plantations will protect the country from alarming consequences of the ongoing climate changes.”
