54 rivers marked rise, 32 fall

Water levels in 54 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 32 stations recorded fall.
Among the 90 monitored water level stations, two river stations have been registered steady while four are flowing above the danger mark, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Saturday.
The Kobadak at Jhikargacha, the Surma at Kanaighat, the Kushiyara at Amalshid and the Sheola are flowing above their danger levels by 74 cm, 58 cm, 106 cm and 69 cm respectively.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am yesterday.
A total of 260 millimeters (mm) rainfall was recorded at 158 mm at Lorergarh, 80 mm at Sunamganj, 64.6 mm at Narsingdi, 54 mm at Barguna, 53.5 mm at Pabna, 41 mm at Durgapur, 40 mm at Nakuagaon, 39.5 mm at Noakhali, 36 mm at Tangail, 36 mm at Teknaf, 34 mm at Comilla and 33.5 mm at Panchagarh.
