Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in separate anti-drug operations, arrested 53 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the city during the over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Thursday (August 4).
In the drive, DMP seized 4,114 pieces of Yaba tablets, 19.95kg hemp and 20gm of heroin, 6 liters 13 bottles of Phencidyl, and 19 kg 180 grams of hemp a DMP statement said.
Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
According to the statement, a total of 34 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
