52 rivers marked rise, 28 fall

Water levels in 52 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 28 stations recorded fall.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at 18 monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Monday.
The Teesta at Dalia, the Ghagot at Gaibandha, the Jamuna at Bahadurabad, Sariakandi, Sirajganj and Aricha are flowing above their danger marks 5cm, 10cm, 24cm, 60cm, 12cm and 12cm while the Atrai at Baghabari, the Dhaleswari at Elasin, the Lakhya at Lakhpur, Padma at Goalundo, Bhagyakul, Sureswar, Surma at Kanaighat and Sunamganj, the Old Surma at Derai , the Jadukata at Lorergarh, Someswari at Durgapur and the Kangsha at Jariajanjail are flowing above their respective danger levels by92cm, 67cm, 54cm, 22cm, 8cm, 15cm, 55cm, 72cm, 22cm, 92cm, 70cm and 147cm.
All major river systems except Ganges are in rising trend, the bulletin added.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Monday.
A total of 370 mm were recorded at Lorergarh, 73mm at Sherpur, 53mm at Rangpur , 50mm at Kushtia, 45 mm at Gaibandha and 30mm at Naogaon.
