Nearly 500 families of Maheshkhali have been marooned for a few days.
Jute and Coal-Power Generation Company is constructing embankments around the union for the largest coal power project in the country’s history.
The coal-power generation company closed the entire sluice gate and Shrimp Ghee Palboot, which went on to build embankments. And because there is no alternative to drainage, the entire Matarbari waterlogging has caused it to have at least five hundred families under water.
 Nearly 20 thousand men and women of these families have been suffering from waterloging . .
People living in the water-racket expressed their anger and said that they did not cooperate with any kind of relief even though they have lived with water for long periods, local public representatives and an NGO organization.
 The poor families have become helpless.
Locals said that the people of Matbarbari gave 26 acres of land for the two major coal power projects in Matarbari. The people of Matarbari were happy over the project.
 For this, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given the opportunity to forerun the people of Matarbari to all sectors, and one kind of media syndicate has been busy for overloading their pockets by denying the right to the general public. Not only that, in the last summer, hundreds of acres of salt outside the project could not be cultivated due to lack of water. Then the danger is not going to leave the land. . Consumers said that the coal-power authorities created water logging without making arrangements for drainage.  Local UP Chairman Master Mohammad Ullah said that due to increase of water level it is not possible to build embankment.
Meanwhile, Cox’s Bazar district council member Master Ruhul Amin said that the local government officials and the district Awami League president and senior government officials have been informed about the water logging of Matarbari.
