UNB, Chittagong :At least 50 shops were gutted by a devastating fire that broke out at a market at Bidhir Haat in Fatikchhari upazila town on Tuesday morning.Local sources said, the fire originated from an electric shot circuit at a shop in the market at about 7:30am and soon engulfed other adjoining shops. On information, two firefighting units from Fatikchhari and Hathazari fire stations of the district rushed in and extinguished the blaze after about three hours of frantic efforts at about 10:30 am with the help of locals. The affected business owners claimed that the extent of losses from the fire could go up to Tk 50 lakh.
