Atleast 20 thousand hajj pilgrims go to Makkah, Madina every year from Chittagong Division for performing Holy Hajj . According to volume of hajj pilgrims from this division, atleast 50 hajj flights are badly needed from Chittagong to Jeddah .
But govt in recent years allocates few numbers of Chittagong -Jeddah flights than the required flights. As a result, intending hajis from Chittagong have to go Dhaka facing transports complications to board Jeddah bound flights from Shahjalal International Airport.
This was disclosed by the speakers at the hajj training and seminar held at Chittagong Zila Parishad auditorium on Saturday last.
The speakers in the seminar said Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Parishad is neither profit earning organization nor a hajj kafela/agency and it works for the welfare of the pilgrims since long . The daylong training programs and seminar was presided over by its President Ahmadul Islam Chowdhury conducted by Dr. Saleh Ahmed Suleman . Secretary General of HPWP Principal Dr.Abdul Karim delivered address of welcome emphasizing the need of hajj training in the programs. Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Arabic University Prof. Dr. Ahsan Saiyeed graced the occasion as chief guest.
Divisional Director of Islamic Foundation , Chittagong Abul Hayat Md. Tarek was the moderator of the seminar. Former district and session Judge Md.Ismail Miah presented the training modules through multimedia projections duly assisted by Abul Makarim Md.Ahmadullah. Prof. AKM Saifuddin, FF District Commander Shahabuddin, Prof. Kazi Shahdat Hossain, Abu Md. Nurul Islam, Shafiqur Rahman, Dr. Md. Abu Bakkar siddique, Kazi Md. Faizullah, Hakim Mohammadullah, Shahjada Kaiser Mirza, Md. Sharif, Miah Ashraf Hossain Momtazuddin Patwary, Adv. Nurul Alam Chowdhury, Adv. Dr. Md. Samiuddin, Ahmed Hossain chowdhury, Dr. Md. Aftikharuddin Chowdhury, Jamiruddin Chowdhury, Dr. Akhtar Hossain played active role in the training and seminar on hajj pilgrimage.
Speakers in the seminar said Hajj is a Faraz Ibadat (Allah directed compulsory prayer) and it is really unfortunate that polluted environment centring Hajj is prevailing in our country. Human traffickers also active in the name Hajj agency which is most harmful for the country.
The speakers also mentioned that real Omra pilgrims could not perform Omra Hajj properly this year due to impact of human trafficking in the name of Omra Hajj Kafela.

The seminar was also told that huge anomaly between the govt and Kafela agencies is prevailing this year and the hajj flights are expected to begin after two weeks but govt yet to announce list of the Hajis .
HPWP observes if the existing Pahartali Haji Camp of Chittagong is recomissioned , the pilgrims from the remote village areas will be benefited to maximum extents and supervision of Chittagong -based pilgrims will be easier than present sufferings in Dhaka Ashkona Hajj c amp . The seminar also urged the govt to be more restrict with transparency over Hajj Kafelas and Agencies to avoid any irregularities this year.
