A court here on Sunday sentenced five people to death for killing a man in 2014.
The convicts are Akash, 18, son of Ismail Sheikh, Saiful Sheikh, 27, son of Kamal Sheikh, ZahidKha, 27, son of ShobhaKha, Hashem Sheikh, 35, son of Kitab Ali and Jewel Bepari, 32, son of Alim Bepari of Sadar uapzila.
According to the prosecution, Zahidul Islam Khan, 30 of Dhuldi
Razapur village in Sadar upazila was killed by the convicts following a conflict over playing cards at West Gangabordi area in the district town on December 21, 2014.
Jesmin Begum, wife of the victim, filed a case with Faridpur Kotwali Police Station on December 23.
After examining the records and witnesses, District and Sessions Judge Selim Mia handed down the verdict.
