At least five people were killed in separate road crashes in Nilphamari and Bagerhat districts on Friday.
In Nilphamari, a bus rammed into a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Syedpur on Friday that left the auto driver and two passengers dead.
The deceased are: auto-rickshaw driver Mintoo Islam,35, and passengers Aftab Hossain,40, and Abdur Rahim,30.
Witnesses said, a passenger bus dashed an auto-rickshaw near WAPDA gate at about 6am, leaving driver Mintoo dead on the spot and two passengers injured.
Both the injured died at Syedpur 100-bed hospital.
Syedpur OC Shahjahan Pasha confirmed the matter.
Angered by the accident, locals blocked the Nilphamari-Syedpur road demanding the arrest of the bus driver and compensation for the dead.
The protesters lifted the blockade five hours after a meeting with Syedpur Upazila Administration and high police officials.
In Bagerhat, two people were killed and another injured when a bus collided with a microbus on Khulna-Mawa Highway at Noapara in Fakirhat Upazila on Friday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Rabiul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Katakhali Highway police, said the accident took place around 7:00am when the bus collided with the Mawa-bound microbus, leaving two people dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and seized the bus, he added
