5 more held over Moghbazar triple murder

Staff Reporter :Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members on Saturday arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in the sensational triple murder in the city’s Moghbazar on August 28.The arrested persons have been identified as Kamal alias Jawra Kamal, a close cohort of Kailla Babu, the prime accused in the murder case, Razu, Apu, Sohel Khan and Billal. The detained persons, except Kamal, are the accused in the murder case, RAB official said.  Meanwhile, Kailla Babu, the main accused of the case, was killed in a ‘shootout’ with police in the capital on September 15.RAB-3 Operation Officer Rabiul Karim confirmed the matter in a press briefing at their office and said that a team of the elite force detained them after conducting raids at different places of Munshiganj and Dhaka early Saturday.He said that the detained persons confessed their guilt.Before it, law enforcers arrested eight persons on September 15 and 20 in connection with the murders.On August 28, miscreants gunned down three persons at a house in Sonalibagh area of Moghbazar over illegal toll and land possession. The three deceased were Mohammad Munna, 18, Billal Hossain, 20, and Ranu Akhter Brishti, 28.Kala Chan, another brother of Ranu, filed a case in connection with the triple-murder with Ramna Police Station, accusing fifteen people including Kailla Babu.
