5 madrasa teachers sacked over torturing student

Five teachers of Nurani Talimul Quran Hafizia Qwami Madrasa at Komolpur union in sadar upazila have been
sacked on charge of torturing a nine-year-old student confining him to a room of the madrasa for three days.
A five-member probe committee formed by the madrasa authorities submitted the report on Tuesday
evening which found its three teachers, arrested on Tuesday noon, guilty. The president of the madrasa managing committee announced the decision of dismissing its three accused teachers for torturing the boy while two others for negligence of duty in presence of the local people and guardians in the evening.
The sacked teachers are-Hafez Mohammad Rezaul Islam, Mawlana Mohammad Riazul Islam, Hafez Mawlana Mohammad Shariful Islam, Hafez Mohammad Golam Mostafa and Hafez Sazzadur Rahman. Jabed Ali, general secretary of the managing committee, said the probe report found the three teachers responsible and took the decision.
AKM Khalequzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said Hasan Ali, father of the victim, filed a case against the three teachers. Later, they were sent to jail, said police.
The victim, Abu Syed, 9, son of Hasan Ali, a resident of Joyrampur village and student of the Nurani Talimul Quran Hafizia Qwami Madrasa in Komolpur union parishad of the upazila, said the teachers locked him in a room accusing him of stealing money from another student and beat him with sticks for three days since Friday.
