A court sentenced five people to life-term imprisonment for killing a man 10 years back on Monday.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Ripati Kumar Biswas delivered the verdict this afternoon against Sagar Ali, Mohammad Haque, Hamidul Islam, Mohammad Sona and Alfaz Uddin. All of the convicts are the residents of the district, reports BSS.
Of the convicts, Sagar Ali and Mohammad Haque were sent to jail while other convicts Alfaz, Hamidul and Sona are fugitive.
According to the prosecution, Nur Islam, a resident of Hijuli village, was murdered by the convicted on March 20, 2010 over a land dispute.
Sakela Khatun, wife of the deceased, filed a case with Meherpur Sadar Police Station accusing 11 people.
