Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Detective Branch (DB) arrested five people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-narcotics drives in the capital from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.
Detective Branch of the DMP in association of the members of local police stations of the city carried out the drives separately starting from 6:00 am on Saturday.
During the drives, the law enforcers recovered 110 pieces of contraband yaba tablets and 740 bottles of phensidy, said DMP
Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
A total of three cases were filed with different police stations under Narcotics Control Act, DC added.
