Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested five persons with 1,650 grams of heroin and 66 bottles of phensidyl in three separate drives on Tuesday night.
The arrested persons were identified as Jaya Sikdar, a woman of 25 of Hasnabad South Keraniganj in Dhaka, Sobuj, 20 of Matikata under Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district, Hamim Iqbal, 21 of Mahishalbari under the same upazila, Rezaul Karim Babu, 23 of Ghorastand area in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila and fake RAB Momin Ali of the same area.
RAB said, acting on secret information, joint forces of RAB, police and Narcotics department raided Dhaka bus stand area on Tuesday at 11 pm and held Sikdar with 250 grams of heroin.
Before this, at around 10-45 pm on the same night RAB arrested Rezaul Karim Babu and fake RAB Momin Ali from Ghorastand area in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila and recovered 66 bottles of phensidyl.
In another drive, RAB arrested Sobuj and Hamim Iqbal from Kamarpara under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district with 1,400 grams of heroin.
