Rangamati Shilpakala Academy on Thursday has awarded five distinguished personalities of the district for their remarkable contribution to cultural sector.
They are Mirtika Chakma (Drama), Ranjit Dewan (music), Maching Marma ( Jatra), Jodindraw Lal Roaza and Prodip Bahadur (musical instrument).
Awarded persons were given certificate, medal and Taka 10,000 cash.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Chairman Jotindraw Bodiprio Larma (Santu Larma) distributed certificates, medal and cash money among the award recipients as a chief guest at Rangamati Shilpakala Academy Auditorium on Thursday evening.
Chairman of Rangamati Hill District Council Nikhil Kumar Chakma was in the chair at the award giving ceremony. Deputy Commissioner DC of Rangamati M Mostafa Kamal and Superintendant of Police SP of Rangamati Amena Begum attended the function as the special guest.
