5 children handed over to Indian family members

The five Indian children, who were detained by police in Basurhat municipality area in Companiganj upazila on October 24, were handed over to Indian authorities on Monday.
The children are Shamim, 8, Shahin, 7, Tawkin, 3, Nasrin, 3 and Wabayed, 1. They hail from Bhangarpar and Khilpara area of Tripura.
The trespassers were sent back to India through Berulia-Mojumdarhat border area in Feni district around 5:30pm, deputy director of social service department of Noakhali Abdur Rahman said.
They handed the five children to their family members in the presence of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at the border.
High officials of police and social service department of Noakhali and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and BSF members were present from Bangladesh from their respective sides at the time.
October 24, police detained five Indian children and a woman from Basurhat municipality area in Companiganj upazila.
When Rehena along with the five children was roaming around Basurhat modern hospital road area suspiciously around 11:30 pm, local people informed police. Later, police detained them.
