Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested five snatchers from Bayazid Bostami area in Bayazid Police Station of the city on Friday night.
The arrestees were identified as Jashim Uddin, 16, Kawser, 15, Emon Hossa-in, 15, Nahid Hamza, 17 and Imam Hossain, 16. A team of police conducted a raid in the area around 10 pm responding to a secret tip-off and arrested them, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bayazid Police Station Mohammad Mohsin. The arrestees confessed to the police that they were members of an organized snatchers gang and involved in snatching for long, he added. A case was filed against them with the police station in this regard.
