Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) detained five activists of outlawed militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from city’s Patenga area early Monday.
The detained were identified as Atiqul Islam Emon, Jamshedul Alam Hridoy, Akkas Ali Noyon, Rubel and Mohiuddin. Additional Deputy Commissioner of CMP Nazmul Hasan said DB police on secret information detained them from a rented house at Katgarh area under city’s Patenga police station at around 1am. Police also recovered two laptops, seven mobile phone sets and hundreds of Jihadi leaflets from their possession, he said adding that the detained were brought to DB office for interrogation.
