4th merit list for college admission published

The results of the 4th and the last merit list for admission to college in higher secondary courses for the academic session of 2015-16 was published on Thursday.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the list in a press briefing in the Secretariat in the morning.
 “There were 82,544 aspirants in the fourth phase. All of them have been allowed for admission,” the Education Minister said.
 “At least two lakh seats are vacant. Students failing to get themselves enrolled in any college can apply for admission again till August,” said the minister.
He said, a total of 11, 76 107 out of 12, 82,618 admission seekers have already completed their admission.
The Dhaka Board sources said, a total of 10,47,000 students had already enrolled themselves in their preferred colleges according to the first, second and third merit lists. More than one lakh students are still to be admitted.
Introduced for the first time, the XI class smart admission system faced criticism as it faltered several times due to technical glitches.
The board authorities had to change admission dates resulting in delays for the whole process.
 The first merit list was published on June 28, three days after the scheduled date, and around 9,23,105 students were selected.
On July 6, the second merit list picked 17,647 applicants for college admission, and the third merit list, which was published on July 11, declared 1,08,639 students eligible.
