The fourth Convocation of the International Islamic University Chattogram (IIUC)was held at its permanent campus of Kumira under Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram yesterday.
The convocation program unveiled at its central auditorium in Kumira at 11 am sharp. Minister for Education Nurul Islam Nahid MP graced the Convocation ceremony as Chief Guest. Chairman of University Grants Commission Prof Abdul Mannan, former vice chancellor of Chattogram University and founder vice chancellor of IIUC Prof Mohammad Ali , former Principal Secretary to the Pr ime Minister Abdul Karim and the advisor to the President of United Arab Emirates HE Al Sayeed Ali Bin Sayeed Abdur Rahman Al Hasim were present in the program as special guests. Vice Chancellor of IIUC Prof. KM Golam Mohiuddin delivered address of welcome in it.
The chief guest Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid MP formally inaugurated the convocation program at 11 am. Through this convocation program, 22,859 students conferred with degree certificates.
Among the 36 students awarded with Chancellor Padak and 230 students given vice chancellor award. The chief guest in his deliberations praised the academic teaching of the private universities and open the doors of new horizon of higher education.
He also said the private universities eliminated the session jots which contributing the role in economic and social development. He further said up grading of quality education is the prime target of the present govt. He emphasized the need of development of moral education for building a model nation n. He urges the students to create new horizon of knowledge through utilizing moral evaluation and corporate social responsibility for fulfilling the dream of Sonar Bangla of Father of the Nation.
Vice chancellor Golam Mohiuddin in his brief deliverations mentioned the transportation problems of the students and costly with risk bearing. H e appealed to the Minister for introducing a pair of shuttle train to and from Chattagram and Kumira station .Founding vice chancellor of IIUC Prof. Mohammad Ali delivered convocation speech before the university authority, Chief guest, Special guests and the students presents there.
