4th Asian Beach Games concludes today in Phuket

The 4th Asian Beach Games will conclude through a half hour long closing ceremony at Sapan Hin Park in Phuket today (Sunday) evening with Bangladesh completed their mission with empty hand.
Thai Minister for Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul will preside over the closing ceremony of the 10-day sports festival.
Hosts Thailand are comfortably dominated the medal table securing 54 gold, 34 silver and 32 bronze medals, China are in distant 2nd with 15 gold. 11 silver and 20 bronze medals, followed by Korea with nine gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medal toll Saturday.
Bangladesh Women’s Kabaddi Team, which earned the lone bronze medal for the country in the last version of the Beach Games, today (Saturday) miserably eliminated from medal race losing both of their matches at the Patong Beach in Phuket.
Bangladesh Eves conceded 24-50 points defeat against their giant neighbor India in the day’s first match in the morning and conceded a narrow 40-42 points defeat against Sri Lanka in the 2nd match in the afternoon to eliminate from the meet with empty hand.
India Women’s team will play the final Sunday morning against the Thailand Eves, which beat Korea by 50-44 points on Saturday.
In the men’s kabaddi, Iran beat Sri Lanka by 45-34 points while Pakistan eliminated their arch-rival India by 39-28 points to play final with each other Sunday morning.
Four performances, unforgettable impression, will be featured during the Closing Ceremony, namely Magic of Dream Destination, Magic of Memory, Magic of Impression, which will be the Flame-Extinguishing ceremony, followed by Magic of Happiness.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports have invited interested persons who need to be part of the Closing Ceremony to get admission tickets (one person per ticket and limited) in front of the Saphan Hin Sports Centre on Sunday from 15.00pm.
