49 arrested in DMP’s anti-narcotics drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted anti-drug drives in different areas of the capital and arrested 46 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in last 24 hours till 6:00am Saturday (May 14).
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.
During the drives, police seized 12,151 Yaba tablets, 11Kg 942gm hemp, 43 bottle Phensedyl and 73 puria heroin from their possessions, a DMP statement said.
Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
According to the statement, a total of 39 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
