Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Detective Branch (DB) arrested at least 48 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-narcotics drives in the capital in last 24 hours from Tuesday morning.
Detective Branch of the DMP in association of the members of local police stations of the city carried out the drives separately starting from 6:00 am on Saturday.

During the drives, the law enforcers recovered 764 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 42 grams of heroin, 12 kg of hemp, 650 bottles of phensidl and 20 pieces of injections from their possessions, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman. A total of 38 cases were filed with different police stations under Narcotics Control Act, DC added.
