Rapid Action Battalion forces recovered 46 thousand pieces of yaba from the drug peddlers in two separate drives at Anowara and in the CMP area . Sources said
forces of Rapid Action Battalion-7 detained two yaba traffickers from Chatori chowmuhani area under Anowara Upazla on Friday evening along with 20,000 pieces of toxic yaba . Asstt. Police super of RAB Md. Mashqur Rahman confirmed the arrest of two drug peddlers.
The detained identified as Md. Rezwan and Nurul Bashar. Acting on secret information, RAB forces conducted raid in Chaturi area and managed these drug peddlers alongwith huge numbers of yaba. Meanwhile RAB vigilance team rounded up one drug peddler from Bakalia area in the city yesterday early morning . After searching the yaba laden truck, about 26,200 pcs of yaba recovered from truck and law enforcers detained the truck also. The detained drug peddler identified as Moshiur Rahman Liton hails f rom Patuakhali district who is the son of one Selim Ghazi. In disquise of truck driving , Moshiur are closely involved with the trafficking of yaba tablets since long, he confessed to law enforcers.
The recovered yabas are being brought in the port city from Coxsbazar area aimed at supplying to the buyers by the truck driver Moshiur, RAB sources said.
