Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Sunday said Bangladesh is a land of about 170 million population and 45 percent of its people have a good purchasing capacity.
“It’s the right time for the developed countries to invest in Bangladesh. It is a big market of crores of people. Of them, 45 percent have good purchasing capacity. India and China are two big markets. Bangladesh has a huge skilled manpower,” he said.
The minister said this while addressing a day-long discussion on “Foreign Decent Investment for Logistics Sector” in a city Hotel organised by Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the European Union head of Delegation.
About the investment opportunities in Bangladesh, the minister said, “Bangladesh government is providing special facilities to attract investment. It’s possible to manufacture products at a low cost and the investors can exports products easily. The government has adopted time-befitting national logistic policy to enhance commerce.”
