At least 45 people, including three women, were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over playing cards in municipality area of the district town on Monday.
Officer-in charge of Sadar Police Station Habibul Islam said villagers of Boirapara and Wapda More had locked in several clashes over playing cards in the last few days.
As a sequel to the enmity, residents of both villages attacked each other on Monday morning, leaving at least 45 people injured.
Twenty-one of the injured were rushed to the local clinics and hospitals.
At least 12 shops and houses were vandalised during the clash.
Being informed, police rushed in and fired 10 rounds of bullet to disperse them and arrested four people.
