A total 4,243 certificate cases have been filed against farmers for due debt of around TK 11,77,92,000 taken from different branches of seven banks in the district as loan.
The cases were filed till September 30 of the running year, said Shahida Khanam, assistant general manager of Sonali Bank at a meeting of the District Farmer Monitoring Committee held on October 28.
Among the cases, a total of 111 cases were filed by Sonali Bank, 87 cases by Janata Bank, 223 cases by Agrani Bank, 3,793 cases by Bangladesh Khrishi Bank, 17 cases by Rupali Bank and 12 case by Karmasangsthan Bank.
