Attack on motorcade of Asaduzzaman Noor: 42 BNP-Jamaat men sent to jail in Nilphamari

Some 42 BNP-Jamaat men including dist. secretary of Jamaat also number one accused of the sensational case were sent to jail as courts rejected bail prayers after surrender on Monday.
Of the accused, 34 belonged to BNP and they surrendered to senior judicial magistrate court at Monday noon and the rest 8 persons belonged to Jamaat-e-Islami who surrendered to additional chief judicial magistrate court on Monday.
Court Inspector Sukumar Mohonta informed that all of them were accused in the case filed for attacking motorcade of Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, the then lawmaker from Nilphamari-2 constituency also present cabinet minister for cultural affairs killing four local leaders of ruling Awami League’s front organizations at Ramganj haat of Tupamari Union in Sadar Upazila on 14 December of 2013.
The 42 accused surrendered in last two days are a part of the total 217 BNP-Jamaat men as the investigation officer of the case sub inspector Mostafizur Rahman pressed charge sheet against them in chief judicial magistrate court on 15 March last year.
The 34 BNP men who surrendered include Rafiqul Islam, Vice President of Laxmichap union unit in Sador upazila and Sakimuddin, ex -president of the same union. The others are medium ranking leaders and activists of the party of Laxmichap and Tupamari union units and they are : Abdul Khaleq, Md Wadud, Hobibar Rahman, Nazir Ahmed, Moinul Huque, Taijul Islam, Sohel Islam, Ibrahim, Abdur Rouf, Raju, Shahjamal, Saidul Islam, Shahed, Badsha, Abdul Motin.
The rest are Alimuddin, Sirajuddin, Surot Ali, Abu Sama Talukdar, Toriqul Islam, Fakiruddin, Bodiuzzaman, Esahaq Ali, Nayeb Ali, Ziaur Rahman, Harun ur Rashid, Mofazzol Hossen, Md Sayed, Aminur Rahman, Kazol, Iman Mondol and Samed Ali.
The senior judicial magistrate Samiul Islam after their surrender rejected their bail prayer and ordered to send them to jail .
