As part of the anti-drug campaign in the capital, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested a total of 41 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during last 24 hours till 6am on Friday.
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted operations against drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations and detained 41 drug traffickers and recovered huge drugs from them from 6am of June 9 to 6 am on Friday.
During the anti-drug drives, police seized 375 grams and 25 puria (small packet) of heroin, 15.224 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) 10,630 pieces of yaba tablets and six litre of local made liquor from them, it said, reports BSS.
Police filed 30 cases against the arrestees with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
