Atleast 40 shops were gutted at Ishan Mistri Hat under Bandar thana in city yesterday. The fire originated from electric short circuit at about 7.30 pm which brought under control after 3 hours.
Fire service sources said properties worth about Tk.5 lakh were gutted in the fire. During the fire , goods about Tk.70 lakh rescued from these shops, sources said.
